used car warranty vs as-is vs extended warranty

When you go to the dealer lot, used cars will have WARRANTY or AS-IS checked on the sticker. The warranty sticker by itself is only a remote indicator of what kind of condition the car is in. The car can have no warranty based on how old it is and how much mileage it has alone, yet it might be in sound operating condition. However, the desire to extend additional warranty by the dealership can be an indicator of overall quality of the car as it has been assessed by their mechanics. Some cars that are sold without warranty MIGHT have some problems to them, such as failure to pass emissions or excessive component wear. Buying a car without warranty puts you more at risk, thus it is essential to check the car's history and carefully and thoroughly inspect it to make sure that everything is working properly. Most cars that are sold with dealership warranty have limited coverage, such as partial coverage of certain components in case the car needs a repair. It is important to carefully read the terms indicated on the sticker.

Extended warranty

You can also purchase extended warranty that will protect your car for a period of time after the purchase. It can be a good investment on an older car, however on newer cars it can be a waste of money. It's really up to you if you want to research an extended warranty cost and see if it's worth if for you in the long run.
